PICO LASER FACIALS
The Carbon Facial
The Carbon Laser Facial is a non-invasive laser skin treatment designed to deeply cleanse pores, exfoliate the skin and restore a brighter, smoother complexion. Often referred to as a “Hollywood Facial,” this advanced laser facial uses a layer of medical-grade carbon applied to the skin to absorb oil, dirt and impurities from within the pores. A specialist laser is then passed over the face to gently heat and remove the carbon, taking congestion and dead skin cells with it. At the same time, the laser energy stimulates collagen production, helping to refine skin texture, improve tone and promote a clearer, more radiant appearance.
This laser facial treatment is ideal for individuals experiencing enlarged pores, oily or acne-prone skin, blackheads, uneven skin tone or general dullness. By targeting excess sebum and surface impurities while encouraging natural skin renewal, the Carbon Laser Facial helps to improve overall skin clarity and smoothness without harsh abrasion or downtime. It is suitable for most skin types and is commonly chosen by clients looking for a deep-cleansing facial that also supports anti-ageing and skin rejuvenation goals.
A Carbon Laser Facial appointment is typically quick and comfortable, usually lasting between thirty and forty-five minutes. Clients often describe the sensation as a gentle warmth with light snapping on the skin. There is no required recovery time, making it a popular choice before special events or as part of a regular skincare maintenance plan. Mild temporary redness may occur immediately afterwards but generally settles within a short period, revealing instantly fresher and more luminous skin. While many clients notice a visible glow after one session, a course of laser facial treatments may be recommended for longer-term improvements in pore size, oil control and overall skin quality.
Number of Sessions: 3–6 treatments (every 2–4 weeks)
Treatment Time: 30–45 minutes
Recovery Time: Immediate (possible mild redness for a few hours)
Results duration: Best maintained with regular sessions; glow typically lasts 2–6 weeks
The PICO Rejuvenation facial
The PICO Laser Facial is a precision skin rejuvenation and pigmentation correction treatment designed to restore a brighter, clearer and more even complexion. Using advanced picosecond laser technology, ultra-short pulses of energy are delivered beneath the skin’s surface to break down excess pigment while stimulating natural collagen renewal. This targeted approach allows unwanted discolouration to be treated with high accuracy while supporting overall skin revitalisation and long-term improvement in tone and texture.
This advanced laser facial is commonly chosen for concerns such as sun damage, age spots, freckles, melasma, uneven skin tone and early signs of ageing. By encouraging the skin’s natural repair processes, the treatment helps refine texture, soften fine lines and gradually lift areas of pigmentation for a more uniform appearance. It is particularly suited to clients looking for focused pigmentation treatment alongside gentle anti-ageing benefits, with results continuing to improve over a series of sessions.
Appointments are typically efficient and well tolerated, usually lasting between thirty and forty-five minutes depending on the treatment area. Clients often describe the sensation as light flicking or tingling as the laser passes across the skin. When treating pigmentation, it is normal for darker spots to temporarily darken and form light scabbing or flaking as the pigment rises to the surface and sheds. This process can involve a slightly longer downtime compared to standard rejuvenation sessions, with visible healing usually occurring over several days. Mild redness or sensitivity may also be present initially, after which the skin appears brighter, clearer and more refreshed. While some improvement can be seen after a single treatment, a tailored course is often recommended for optimal long-term pigmentation correction and overall skin rejuvenation.
Number of Sessions: 3–6 treatments (every 4–6 weeks)
Treatment Time: 30–45 minutes
Recovery Time: 3–7 days when treating pigmentation (darkening/flaking/scabbing can occur); rejuvenation-only is usually minimal downtime
Results duration: Progressive results; pigmentation improvement builds across the course and can last months+ with good SPF and maintenance
What to Expect
Your appointment will begin with a brief consultation and skin assessment to confirm suitability and tailor the treatment to your individual skin concerns. The skin will then be thoroughly cleansed and prepared before the facial begins. During treatment you may feel a gentle warmth or light snapping sensation as the laser passes across the skin, which most clients find comfortable and well-tolerated. For rejuvenation-focused sessions, a topical numbing cream can be applied beforehand if required for additional comfort. Protective eyewear is provided throughout the procedure and the full appointment typically lasts around thirty to forty-five minutes.
Immediately afterwards the skin often appears fresher and brighter, with mild temporary redness similar to light sun exposure possible for a short period. When pigmentation is specifically targeted, darker areas may temporarily deepen in colour and form light flaking or small scabs as the pigment rises to the surface and sheds naturally over the following days. This is a normal and expected response as the skin renews. Hydration and daily SPF are recommended after both treatments to support healing and protect results. Many clients notice an instant glow, while longer-term improvements in clarity, tone and texture continue to develop gradually over a recommended course of sessions.
Pre-Treatment Instructions
To achieve the safest and most effective results, please arrive with clean skin free from makeup, fake tan, heavy moisturisers or active skincare products. Avoid direct sun exposure and sunbeds for at least 7–10 days before your appointment, and apply a broad-spectrum SPF daily in the lead-up to treatment. Recently tanned or sunburnt skin cannot be treated safely.
Discontinue the use of strong active ingredients such as retinol, retinoids, glycolic acid, salicylic acid and other exfoliating acids for approximately 5–7 days beforehand unless advised otherwise. Avoid waxing, threading, chemical peels or other abrasive skin treatments on the area for at least one week prior. If you are prone to cold sores in the treatment area, please inform the clinic in advance so appropriate precautions can be discussed.
Try to keep the skin well hydrated in the days before your appointment and avoid alcohol or excessive heat exposure the day before treatment. If you have recently had injectable treatments, laser procedures or are currently using prescription skin medications, it is important to notify the clinic during consultation so timing and suitability can be assessed. Arriving with healthy, calm skin allows the treatment to be performed more comfortably and helps optimise your results.
Aftercare Instructions
After your treatment the skin may appear slightly pink, warm or sensitive, similar to mild sun exposure. This is normal and usually settles within a few hours. Keep the skin clean, cool and well-hydrated, and avoid touching or picking at the area. If pigmentation has been treated, darker spots may temporarily darken and form light flaking or small scabs — allow these to shed naturally without interference to prevent irritation or unwanted marks.
Apply a gentle moisturiser regularly and use a broad-spectrum SPF 30–50 daily, even on cloudy days, as the skin will be more sensitive to sunlight. Avoid direct sun exposure, sunbeds, saunas and excessive heat for at least 7–10 days. Makeup can usually be worn after 24 hours if the skin feels comfortable, but mineral or breathable formulas are recommended initially.
For the first 3–5 days avoid active skincare ingredients such as retinol, exfoliating acids, vitamin C serums, scrubs or strong peels. Do not wax, thread or undergo additional facial treatments on the area until the skin has fully settled. Keep the skin well hydrated by drinking plenty of water and avoid excessive alcohol or strenuous exercise on the day of treatment if possible.
If you experience prolonged redness, swelling, blistering or any unexpected reaction, contact the clinic immediately for advice. Most clients notice an immediate freshness to the skin, with continued improvement in clarity and tone developing over the following days as the skin renews. Consistent sun protection and gentle skincare will help maintain and prolong your results.
