Top Tips for finding an aesthetics practitioner
If you are considering getting an aesthetics treatment, you’ve probably already looked around at work from a few clinics! but have you thought about exactly who you want to complete your treatment, and what is especially important in an injector? How much do you think it matters who does your treatment? It really does! It is not illegal for a non-medic (including a beautician) to perform filler treatments, but it could be a risk to you. There are SO MANY people out there claiming to be qualified in aesthetics, declaring that they have undertaken advanced training. It can be so confusing. If you’re not sure where to start, don’t panic – we have collected a list of things for you to consider when looking for an experienced and safe aesthetics practitioner.
MAKE SURE YOUR PRACTITIONER IS MEDICALLY QUALIFIED
Choosing an experienced highly skilled practitioner is important in achieving the amazing lips you’ve always wanted. But to receive safe treatment it is crucial to find a medically qualified practitioner. Your injector should have completed prestigious aesthetics training as well as being fully insured. At Mollie Elise Aesthetics all our injectors have received advanced training and are fully registered Nurses. It is a good idea to consider having treatments with medical professionals, as they will have received intense training in adverse reactions and dealing with emergency scenarios as well as how to prevent them.
ENSURE THE PRACTITIONER HAS GOOD EXPERIENCE
The idea of a doctor completing your treatment may seem like the most ideal choice, but sometimes they only run clinics once a month, so don’t inject very often. It’s important that your practitioner has abundant experience and runs clinics on a regular basis. Don’t be afraid to ask how long they have been qualified specifically in aesthetics for.
A GOOD RELATIONSHIP
You should always feel at ease with your injecting practitioner. Its important to be able to talk easily and feel comfortable with them. That way you can tell them exactly what youre wanting from the treatment without feeling awkward. A good practitioner is understanding and should be able to individualise and tailor every client treatment personally to them.
TRAINING
Products are always being updated, and techniques are constantly changing in the field of aesthetics. Choose a clinic where practitioners regularly attend courses and seminars for their personal development. It’s important that their knowledge is up to date, so they can give you the best advice.
EVIDENCE OF TRAINING
If for any reason you are unsure about your practitioner and their credentials, don’t be afraid to ask to see their qualifications and training certificates! Any reputable practitioner will be more than happy to provide you with this information, or even already have them on display!
AFTERCARE
Ensure your chosen practitioner offers follow-up care and you have a way of contacting them after your treatment. They should also provide you with aftercare advice post treatment. At Mollie Elise Aesthetics we provide all clients with phone numbers for the clinic and written aftercare advice.
REFERRAL
A recommendation from a friend or family member is the best way to give you some reassurance. Referrals are the perfect way to find a reputable clinic with excellent practitioners firsthand.
TESTIMONIALS
Reading reviews testimonials on their website, Instagram, or Facebook is a good way of finding out about a clinic and its practitioners.
PRESSURE
REMEMBER: You should never feel pressurised into having a treatment. You should be given the opportunity to take some time to consider a treatment and book later down the line. Do not feel rushed due to time or an offer. Consider that sometimes it’s worth paying that little bit extra to ensure you’re confident you’ve chosen the right clinic and practitioner.
